Thibau Nys and Fem van Empel win a European Championship where Felipe Orts takes the silver medal
In the men's race, 21-year-old Belgian cyclist Thibau Nys has beaten Spanish rider Felipe Orts after both managed to break away from the group of favorites, consisting of Iserbyt, Van der Haar, and Vandeputte, three laps from the finish.
Both managed to maintain their advantage over the rest, but Nys managed to pull away from Orts in the hurdles section and from there he gained enough advantage to cross the finish line first on his own. Orts took the silver medal and Iserbyt secured the bronze ahead of Vandeputte and Van der Haar.
