The rarest cycling accessory of the year? This is the full-face helmet cover
The young Australian brand Attaquer, specialized in creating cycling garments using knitting machines, which allows them to construct garments in one or very few pieces, surprises with the launch of the OrbKnit Balaclava, a type of balaclava designed not only to cover the entire head of the cyclist, including the helmet, during these cold months.

Attaquer OrbKnit Balaclava, the ultimate protection against the cold
During our winter bike rides, the head is one of the body parts where heat escapes the fastest, so keeping it protected is essential for maintaining maximum comfort during the chilly days of pedaling.
There are many tools used by cyclists these days, from small under-helmet caps, tubular scarves to cover the neck and face, or for those who feel the cold more, full balaclavas that cover the entire head.

However, this last option can be somewhat overwhelming when putting on the helmet, and it is also complicated to remove if the temperature rises during the ride. To solve these inconveniences, the Australian brand Attaquer has created its OrbKnit Balaclava, a garment that they have manufactured in Italy using knitting machines, as its name suggests, allowing for a one-piece construction.
For its construction, Attaquer uses Dryarn, a synthetic fiber characterized by its great lightness, elasticity, high breathability, and ability to retain heat. In its design, different zones are established where the density of the fabric and the structure of the knit vary in order to increase protection in some areas and facilitate breathability in others, such as the mouth and eye areas, to prevent glasses from fogging up due to breath.

The enormous elasticity of Dryarn allows for a wide variety of uses, from placing it only around the neck like a typical tubular scarf to covering the entire head of the cyclist, including the helmet, to provide maximum coverage and insulation from the cold, a configuration that would help avoid the feeling of discomfort that often comes with wearing a balaclava under the helmet, an option that we can also use in any case. The design is finished with a neck that extends downwards to maximize protection in this area.
The Attaquer OrbKnit Balaclava is available on the Attaquer website and is priced at €65.
