The new Stilus Offroad from Decathlon and its price will give a lot to talk about
Decathlon remains faithful to its maxim of making sport more accessible to a greater number of people and now it is time to transfer that brand philosophy to electric bicycles with the arrival of the MTB Stilus Offroad to its catalog, a basic bike but with everything necessary to venture into the most challenging paths with the extra fun provided by its electric assistance.
Stilus Offroad, a fully capable mountain e-bike at an unbeatable price
In the entry-level bike segment of Decathlon, we often find pleasant surprises. A price range to which the brand always pays special attention since the philosophy of making sport as accessible as possible is part of the pillars on which the brand is based.
With this Stilus Offroad that is added to the catalog, Decathlon wanted to make available to the general public a mountain bike with electric assistance fully capable of tackling mountain routes without having to pay the usual price of mountain e-bikes.

Obviously, we have to start from the premise that the bike has basic equipment, but well chosen to hold its own on real mountain routes. A bike that is built on a sturdy aluminum frame designed to accommodate a central Star Union CM2502 motor that offers a torque of 110 Nm and a peak power of 410 W. A motor that is powered by a removable battery located in a conventional position along the diagonal tube and has a capacity of 504 Wh.
At the front, we find a basic Suntour XCM32 spring fork, without any hydraulic damping to control rebound, and that can be adjusted to the weight of the cyclist by acting on the preload dials located on the top of the bars. A fork that has 32 mm bars to offer a good level of stiffness although it has as a weak point, on the other hand something common in bikes in this price range, that it mounts conventional quick releases instead of the usual thru-axle.
Speaking of wheel closures, it is worth mentioning that its 29-inch wheels have a 25 mm rim width, allowing them to easily accommodate the generous 2.4'' tires that come as standard. Tires that will allow us to tackle complicated terrains without any problem.
Thinking about this type of terrain, the Shimano MT200 hydraulic brakes stand out, with their 180 mm discs ensuring that we can stop the bike in any circumstance with minimal effort.
As for the groupset, Decathlon once again relies on Microshift, a manufacturer of many of the groups that their bikes mount, providing robust, reliable and very noticeable shifting, especially considering the range in which we are moving. Specifically, a 1x9 group is chosen with the Microshift Advent derailleur, house cranks with a 34-tooth chainring and a wide cassette with 11-42 ratios, more than enough for any type of ride.
As we say, an entry-level mountain e-bike that has an attractive price of €1699.99 and that will surely allow many to discover the world of unlimited fun of electric mountain bikes.
