The MTB World Championship in Val di Sole already has a schedule: 17 rainbow jerseys in six days of competition
The countdown for the UCI MTB World Championship has already begun. The 2026 World Championship will take place from August 25 to 30 in Val di Sole (Trentino, Italy), a venue that will once again bring together the best specialists in the world in Olympic and gravity MTB disciplines.
The MTB World Championship 2026 already has a schedule
This will be the fourth time that this Italian valley hosts the world event, following the editions held in 2008, 2016, and 2021. For almost a week, the Daolasa di Commezzadura circuit will once again become the epicenter of MTB with 17 world titles at stake across five disciplines: Olympic Cross-country (XCO), Short Track (XCC), Team Relay, Downhill (DHI), and e-MTB.
The official activity will begin on Tuesday, August 25, a day reserved for the first training sessions of cross-country and e-MTB, as well as the opening ceremony that will officially kick off the championship.
The first medals will be awarded the following day, Wednesday, August 26, when the e-MTB races will take place, with the women's and men's races scheduled for the morning. That same afternoon will bring one of the most anticipated moments of the championship: the Team Relay, the national team event in which each selection lines up six riders from different categories.

Thursday, August 27 will mark the start of traditional cross-country competitions with the junior men's and women's races in the morning. In the afternoon, it will be time for the Short Track, an explosive discipline that awards four rainbow jerseys among men and women, under 23 and elite.
The day will conclude with the classifications of the Four-Cross Pro Series, a parallel competition that usually attracts specialists in this discipline.
The Downhill will be held on the iconic Black Snake track. This course, considered one of the most demanding on the international calendar, will be the center of attention for gravity fans.
On Friday, August 28, the downhill classifications will take place, while on Saturday, August 29, all world titles in the discipline will be decided in the junior and elite categories, on a day that traditionally features some of the most spectacular descents of the championship.
The Olympic Cross-country will close the championship
As is customary in MTB World Championships, Sunday, August 30 will be reserved for the Olympic Cross-country, the premier discipline of mountain biking and the only one present in the Olympic program.
The program for the last day will follow the classic order of categories:
- XCO U23 Women – 09:00
- XCO U23 Men – 11:00
- XCO Elite Women – 13:00
- XCO Elite Men – 15:15
With these four races, the final touch will be put on a week that will bring together the best riders in the world in one of the most iconic MTB destinations.
