Caja Rural-Seguros RGA will debut in the Tour de France 2026

The 2026 Tour de France already has a confirmed peloton and brings one of the most celebrated news for Spanish cycling. The Caja Rural-Seguros RGA team will be at the start of the Grande Boucle for the first time. The organization, Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO), has granted the Navarre team one of the two wild cards to complete the list of 23 teams that will start on July 4 from Barcelona, marking a historic beginning of the Tour in Spanish territory.

The invitation represents the greatest sporting milestone for a structure that has been knocking on the door of major calendar events for years. ASO has chosen Caja Rural-Seguros RGA over other projects that were favorites for the invitation, in a decision that rewards the team's sustained growth, competitive regularity, and the image presented in 2025.

From the sports management, José Miguel Fernández valued the announcement as “an honor and a feeling that is hard to describe,” emphasizing that the goal will be “ambitious but realistic: to try to fight for a stage victory and leave a mark in the most followed race in the world.” The debut also comes with the added symbolism that the Tour will start in Barcelona and will be the first presence of the name Caja Rural in the French round since the late 80s, then as a sponsor.
