SHIMANO has presented a new and striking version of its CUES components. A special edition in polished aluminum that combines modern performance with the elegance of classic finishes. With this release, the Japanese firm celebrates over a century of experience in metalworking, an art that has defined much of its identity as a manufacturer.

Shimano pays tribute to its metallurgical legacy and the classic aesthetics of cycling

The new version of the 10-speed CUES offers the reliability, durability, and smooth operation that characterizes the family, but adds a touch of distinction thanks to its polished finish. It is available for both drop handlebar and flat handlebar configurations, and offers compatibility with hydraulic or mechanical brakes, expanding customization possibilities.

This special edition is part of the expansion of the SHIMANO CUES range, which now includes specific versions for daily use, gravel, and road cycling. The line aims to bring the quality of LINKGLIDE transmission to a wider audience, focusing on durable, easy-to-maintain components that are fully compatible with each other.

The new polished aluminum shifters and brakes feature ergonomic designs inspired by Shimano's high-end road groups, with shorter and more comfortable levers to accommodate different hand sizes. In addition, the unified sprocket spacing across the range makes combinations and maintenance easier for both cyclists and workshops.

Highlighted pieces of this special edition in polished aluminum include:

  • RD-U6000 - Polished silver CUES rear derailleur, with 10-speed LINKGLIDE technology and capacity for up to 50-tooth cogs.
  • CS-LG400-10 - 10-speed cassette (11-48T) with the same LINKGLIDE technology.
  • FC-U6030-1 - Polished silver CUES cranks, with 40 or 42-tooth chainrings, 50mm chain line, and DYNAMIC CHAIN ENGAGEMENT+ design.
  • HB/FH-QC400 - Sealed polished aluminum hubs, designed to offer reliability and smooth rolling.

The Polished Silver CUES 1x10 configuration with hydraulic brakes combines the new DUAL CONTROL ST-U6030-R shifters, BL-U6030-L brake levers, and BR-U6030 Flat Mount calipers. The result is a retro aesthetic with all the performance and precision of a modern hydraulic disc brake system.

There is also a version available with mechanical disc brakes, featuring the DUAL CONTROL ST-U3030-10R shifters and BL-U3030-L brake lever, maintaining the reliability and easy maintenance of traditional mechanical systems, but with the refinement of the polished aluminum finish.

Cyclists who prefer a more urban or mountain configuration can combine this new silver aesthetic with existing flat handlebar CUES components, such as SL-U6000-10R shifters and BR-MT410 or BR-T4000 brake calipers, achieving a coherent set in performance and style.

With this polished aluminum edition, Shimano pays tribute to its own history with noble materials, careful design, and reliable performance designed to last. The CUES Polished Silver edition combines past and present in an accessible, versatile group with an aesthetic that never goes out of style.
