Savilia Blunk renews with Decathlon Ford until 2028 and aims for the Los Angeles Games
Blunk joined the French structure at the beginning of 2023, when the project was just taking its first steps in the elite of XCO. Since then, her progression has been very consistent. A year after her arrival, she achieved her first podium in the World Cup. Now, the renewal until 2028 consolidates her relationship with the team.
"Joining Decathlon Ford in 2023 was an opportunity I had been looking for a long time. The team gave me the resources and support to show what I was capable of against the best in the world," explains Blunk. "I am very proud to extend my contract until 2028 and continue building this momentum. The next three years will be key in my preparation for the Los Angeles Games, and I know that together we will give everything to maximize our potential."

From the team's management, general manager Samuel Roces emphasizes the symbolic and sporting value of this continuity. He recalls that Blunk was the first American national champion to trust such a young French structure and highlights that "an American runner developing her Olympic career on a Rockrider is an incredible story." For Roces, the renewal "validates the work of the last three years and allows us to start building the path to 2028 from today."
In sporting terms, the numbers support the bet. Born on May 30, 1999, Blunk has been the United States XCO champion in 2022 and 2023, and national XCC champion from 2023 to 2025. She has accumulated nine podiums in World Cups, between XCO and short track, all achieved with Decathlon Ford, and has finished the last two seasons in the top 10 of the world ranking, with a 5th place finish in 2024 and an 8th in 2025. In the last World Championship, she finished fifth.
Her 2026 season will begin on February 20 at the Salinas circuit in Puerto Rico, where she will open the Olympic XCO calendar with a block of five races, three of Olympic cross-country and two of short track, before jumping to the World Cup. A first step in a project that, with this renewal, makes it clear that it is thinking long-term.
