Pidcock reaches speeds of over 95 km/h descending this German pass
The German port of Rossfeld Panoramastrasse has been the setting for the latest video published by Red Bull in which Tom Pidcock demonstrates his descending skills closely followed by motorcyclist Mathias Walkner, also sponsored by the energy drink company and winner of the 2018 Dakar Rally.
Red Bull showcases Tom Pidcock's descending skills in their latest video
That Tom Pidcock is one of the most technical and best descenders in the current peloton is not surprising to any regular follower of road cycling. These performances have not gone unnoticed by a company like Red Bull, always looking to bring the adrenaline of the sport to the general public.

With the Rossfeld Panoramastrasse, a 6-kilometer pass in the Bavarian Alps, Tom Pidcock has showcased his descending skills closely followed by Rally Dakar champion motorcyclist Mathias Walkner in a video that seeks to summarize the risks that professional cyclists take in races, descending at dizzying speeds like the 95 km/h that Tom Pidcock reached in the video, without any protection beyond the helmet and on lightweight machines of just over 7 kg with only a few millimeters of rubber from the tires used in this discipline making contact with the road.
This is not the first time that Tom Pidcock has shown off his descending skills, which have made one of his most talked-about descents, the one he did in the 2022 Tour de France on the descent of the Galibier leading to a stage win at the iconic Alpe d'Huez, considered one of the best descents in the history of professional cycling.
It is interesting in the Red Bull video that, to reach those speeds, despite being a pass with many sections of slopes above 10%, the twisty layout of the pass forces Tom Pidcock to adopt a position now banned by the UCI in competition, which allows the cyclist to be more aerodynamic and therefore increase their speed.
