Orbea bets on versatility in its new Terra
The avalanche of new bikes continues. After being seen in the hands of some participants in the recently disputed Unbound Gravel, the new Orbea Terra is presented to society with a focus, contrary to the trend of segmentation that gravel bikes are experiencing, opting for the versatility of a model as suitable for adventure gravel as for competition.
From races to epic routes, everything is possible for the new Orbea Terra
Wide wheel clearances, internal storage compartment, or great comfort are the calling card of the Orbea Terra that made its competition debut just a few weeks ago at the Unbound Gravel, the most important event in the world of this discipline.
A bike that prefers not to focus on a specific use like most gravel bikes that are coming to the market lately but seeks adaptation to all types of terrain. To achieve this, Orbea has started by reviewing the geometry of its Terra, with a longer reach, as befits competition bikes but combined with shorter stems and a trail adjusted to each size to achieve that perfect balance of behavior.

What it does adhere to the current trend is the wide wheel clearances of this new Orbea Terra, which allows for tires up to 50 mm, 45 if fenders are mounted. Also, like other current models, it incorporates an internal storage system in the down tube that Orbea calls Lockr XXL.
When building the frame of this Orbea Terra, the folks from Mallabia choose OMR carbon for its greater vibration filtering capacity, just what is sought in a gravel bike. An absorption capacity in which in turn collaborate the studied sections of parts such as stays, seatstays, or seat tube to allow controlled flexion that acts as a small damping system. By the way, a seatpost that in this Orbea Terra is round looking to be able to mount a dropper post without any problem.
Just as Orbea has been doing with its Orca and Orca Aero, they have also taken advantage of the launch of this bike to equip it with Oquo wheels from the brand including the option to mount the Oquo RP50LTD whose aerodynamic capacity, provided by its 50 mm profile, adds an extra if choosing to compete with this Terra. Speaking of use, as is customary at Orbea, the customer can configure the stem and handlebar measurements to have a Terra perfectly adapted to their characteristics and intended use.
