New RS Control System: Orbea changes the way of riding an eMTB
Orbea takes another step in the evolution of its RS (Rider Synergy) philosophy with the launch of the RS Control System, an innovation that promises to transform the way rider and bike interact. The system is not just a new remote or a new seatpost, it is a complete ecosystem that connects motor, seatpost, and display in a single integrated network, offering more control, simplicity, and intelligent functions that did not exist in the market until now.
Orbea RS Control System: a new way to ride an eMTB
As we have advanced, the new RS Control System is a complete ecosystem that connects the motor, seatpost, and display in a single integrated system. Its two key components are the RS HMI interface (the remote) and a completely redesigned smart telescopic seatpost, the MC10 RS.
A minimalist and connected cockpit
The heart of the new system is the RS HMI remote, a handlebar remote developed by Orbea that centralizes the control of the motor, the telescopic seatpost, and essential information in a single compact device.

The ergonomic design offers different mounting options to adapt to any rider and also introduces unprecedented intelligent functions:
- RS/RS+ profile change: switch from natural and efficient assistance to a more powerful one with just one button.
- Super Boost: maximum power for 15 seconds to tackle impossible ramps or catch up with other riders.
- Telescopic seatpost control with sensations identical to a mechanical remote, but with two extra functions: Partial Drop (predefined intermediate position) and Ready-to-Drop (activate the descent and execute it later).
- Integrated LED display with six indicators, showing battery level and assistance with superior accuracy, especially between 20% and 0%.
A lightweight and precise smart seatpost
The second pillar of the system is the new MC10 RS Smart Dropper Post, an electronic telescopic seatpost with its own sensors that unlock its intelligent functions. It stands out for its low weight (646 g for 240 mm of travel), an ultra-compact stack, and a bushing system that allows adjusting the travel in 5 mm steps without special tools.
Available in sizes of 180, 210, and 240 mm, the MC10 RS is fully integrated into Orbea's Steep ’n’ Deep philosophy, maximizing insertion and taking advantage of frame geometry.
A single battery for everything
Electronics are unstoppable in mountain biking, but they have brought the problem of having to check and charge multiple components before and after each ride. The RS Control System is powered directly from the main eBike battery, simplifying the experience and increasing reliability: motor, seatpost, electronic shifting, and remotes work with a single charge. This reduces weight, eliminates additional cables, and ensures centralized energy management.
Advanced connectivity: RS App and RS Toolbox
Furthermore, for those looking for data and customization, Orbea offers two complementary solutions:
- RS App (iOS and Android): allows customizing the system settings, adjusting the smart seatpost, receiving firmware updates, and, soon, adding more functions.
- RS Toolbox: integrated in Garmin IQ, provides route metrics (cadence, power, battery, departure time) on cycle computers or smartwatches, without the need for extra sensors.
This way, the rider can opt for a minimalist cockpit or access advanced data on their external device.
Currently only available on the new Orbea Rise
The RS Control System debuts on the Rise SL M-LTD and M10 models, and Rise LT M-Team and M10. These versions come standard with the RS HMI remote, the smart MC10 RS seatpost, and Shimano Di2 electronic shifting.
Here you can check out the entire new Orbea Rise 2026 range with its setups and prices.
Orbea confirms that, for now, the RS Control System will not be available as an aftermarket upgrade or in MyO, and will be exclusive to Rise. However, the brand leaves the door open for new functions in the app and for the RS concept to arrive on other platforms in the future.
