The recipe to optimize the force applied by the cyclist on the pedals usually involves two points: a very rigid sole and the shortest possible distance between the foot and the pedal axle. Fizik had already achieved the first point in its previous models, and the second is achieved by integrating this carbon sole with the upper to scrape off a few millimeters. The carbon is located on the inside of the shoe, similar to running shoes, and has an external coating that protects it from daily wear and tear.

On the other hand, the upper features a new material called Aeroweave Pro, an extremely breathable plastic mesh with great adaptability and resistance. To save weight and improve fit, the upper is of a bootie type. This may make them a bit more uncomfortable to put on and take off, but it improves the fit to the foot. As is customary in almost all sports models, they are fastened with two Boa Li2 closures.

In addition to this, Fizik has also done intense ergonomic work, first by modifying the sole geometry with a flatter and straighter curve that is less demanding on the foot, allowing it to adapt to a greater number of users. With the same goal, a wider last is chosen, contrasting with the traditional narrowness of Fizik shoes, leaving more space for the toes to avoid pressure points.

These Fizik Vega Carbon shoes are available in sizes ranging from 36 to 48 with half sizes except at the extremes. They weigh 239 grams and have a price of €390, in line with most high-end models on the market. Currently available only in all-white or the curious combination of white, black, and yellow.
