New BMC Twostroke 01 2027: the hardtails make the leap and go beyond XC
BMC updates one of its most representative platforms within XC with the arrival of the new Twostroke 01, a hardtail that not only aims to be faster but also adapts to a much broader use than purely competitive. The Swiss brand introduces a deep revision of its geometry and multiple technical changes aimed at improving efficiency, control, and customization.
The BMC Twostroke 01 2027 evolves and is now a more technical, faster, and more complete hardtail
The new BMC Twostroke 01 is a bike that maintains its competitive DNA but is closer than ever to the current standards of modern XC, where stability and descending capability have gained prominence over the classic focus on extreme lightness.

More aggressive geometry aligned with modern XC
The most important change in this new generation is in its geometry, now clearly inspired by the philosophy of the Fourstroke. BMC has sought a more centered and stable position without penalizing reactivity.

The reach increases by 10 mm, the head angle relaxes to 66°, and the seat angle becomes more vertical at 75.5°. This is complemented by a contained stack thanks to a shorter head tube and a slight increase in bottom bracket height.

Overall, the setup has been designed around a 110 mm fork, although it allows configurations between 100 and 120 mm, which opens the door to a much broader use than traditional XC.
This approach makes it clear that we are no longer dealing with a purely circuit hardtail, but rather a platform designed to perform in more technical and demanding scenarios.

An optimized frame to transfer power without losing comfort
BMC maintains its construction in carbon 01 Premium, but introduces key adjustments in the shapes of the tubes to balance stiffness and absorption.
The design of the rear triangle, with low stays and a very sloped top tube, works together with the "D" shaped seat post to provide some vertical flex. This detail aims to reduce fatigue without compromising efficiency, something especially relevant in long races or rough terrain.

The weight of the frame is 998 grams in size M, and with the seat post, it is around 1,148 grams, figures that still position it within the most competitive standards of the segment.
Improved integration and greater ease of maintenance
One of the most revised points is the new cable routing. BMC simplifies the internal routing to eliminate excess cables in the front area and improve both aesthetics and functionality.
The new system facilitates the installation of brakes and dropper posts, as well as protecting the paint of the head tube from scratches.

An integrated steering stop is also introduced to prevent damage in case of a fall, a detail that is becoming increasingly common in high-end bikes.

More capacity and real versatility
The Twostroke 01 significantly expands its possibilities beyond pure XC. The frame allows for two bottle cages thanks to three mounts on the diagonal tube, something uncommon in hardtails of this type.

Additionally, it offers clearance for tires up to 61 mm, allowing for more aggressive configurations or even approaching extreme gravel.
Compatibility with AXS, Di2, and mechanical drivetrains, along with a range of chainrings from 26 to 38 teeth, reinforces the idea of a platform adaptable to any type of use.
A hardtail that is no longer just for XC
BMC redefines the role of the Twostroke within its catalog. It is no longer just a competition bike for fast circuits, but a versatile tool capable of performing in marathons, multi-day adventures, or even hybrid configurations close to gravel.

This approach is reinforced with a much more stable geometry in descents and greater absorption capacity, two aspects that have traditionally been the weak point of hardtails.
