More aerodynamic than ever, the new Cervélo S5 has arrived
The bicycle that popularized aerodynamics for everyday road cycling, with the permission of the original Soloist, continues to be updated to provide the highest levels of efficiency to Visma-Lease a Bike cyclists and, by extension, to anyone who wants to enjoy the excellent qualities of this speed queen that is the Cervélo S5.
Cervélo updates its S5 to continue being one of the aerodynamic benchmarks in the peloton
Actually, the Cervélo S5 did not need a renovation. It was already a very light bike, being a pure aerodynamic, with unbeatable behavior thanks to its stiffness and intuitive and, above all, efficient geometry on almost any terrain that is not high mountains.
However, between taking advantage of the latest UCI regulations update regarding aerodynamic designs and shaving off a few grams from the previous version, in addition to the product lifecycle in the market that forces brands to present novelties every so often, the fact is that we already have here the new Cervélo S5 that Visma-Lease a Bike is using in the 2025 Tour de France.

Following aerodynamic trends, Cervélo has worked especially on the front area of the bike, which first receives the impact of the wind, in order to reduce resistance there while, in the rear part, the tubes are much more streamlined in order to seek weight savings, always without compromising aerodynamics. Therefore, the rear triangle retains the characteristic curve of its seat tube that hugs the wheel and highlights the meticulous design of the junction between the seat stays and this tube.
However, what really catches the eye is the tremendous size of its head tube that extends into the front triangle at the level of what not long ago was the exclusive domain of time trial bikes.
Cervélo also maintains another characteristic feature of this S5, which is the bayonet fork, anchored at the top and bottom of the head tube and with a front spoiler that also grows in size. An area where Cervélo has placed special emphasis on designing the carbon layup to make it as light as possible. At the top of the head tube, its characteristic V-shaped stem could not be missing, which, as we thought after seeing the previous images that were leaked during Jonas Vingegaard's training sessions, becomes an integrated set.
A handlebar that now has a much greater flare in its geometry, with a difference of 4 centimeters between the grip in the curve and the one achieved on the hoods, almost gravel bike dimensions that, however, comply with the recent changes included by the UCI in its regulations.
Also, the junction of the seat tube and the down tube contributes to aerodynamics by forming a monolithic set on the bottom bracket that, in passing, surely also serves to add aerodynamics to the area.
Cervélo continues to trust its asymmetric Bbright bottom bracket and, speaking of standards, highlights a change that seemed almost obligatory, especially considering that Visma-Lease a Bike almost always uses this bike in a single chainring configuration. Obviously, we are talking about a UDH type derailleur hanger that allows mounting with the new SRAM Red XPLR AXS with 13 speeds and its new full mount derailleur.
To round out the most aerodynamic set possible, Reserve, the brand's usual wheel supplier, has created the Reserve 57|64 Turbulent model with a profile that, in addition to being very generous, is designed to work in conjunction with the frame, including the asymmetry presented by the frame due to its Bbright bottom bracket and reflected in the seat tube.
