MARKZERØ is the new premium line from Wolf Tooth: weight and performance at the limit
Wolf Tooth has decided to break with its own product philosophy with the launch of MARKZERØ. A premium line within the brand that pushes several of its most well-known components to the limit through redesigns focused on weight, machining, and mechanical efficiency. This is a new range where the brand optimizes each component without cost or manufacturing time restrictions.
Wolf Tooth takes its engineering to the limit with the new MARKZERØ range
The philosophy of this new line is to start from existing products and take them to their lightest and most refined expression through more elaborate CNC processes, tighter tolerances, and the use of advanced materials. This includes titanium axles with DLC coating, titanium screws with PVD treatments, and the use of 7075 aluminum machined with a higher degree of hollowing to eliminate grams without compromising structural rigidity.

One of the main focuses is on pedals, where Wolf Tooth introduces two SPD-compatible variants clearly differentiated by use. The ALT XC model maintains a double-sided design aimed at competition, with a declared weight of 246 grams, while the DEL gravel opts for a wider platform of 559 mm, single-sided operation, and a weight of 174 grams. Both share a profile of 14.5 mm thickness, titanium axle with DLC coating, and titanium screws with PVD treatment. The internal system allows for Q-factor modification using spacers, offering an adjustment range between 51 and 59 mm, which is uncommon in this type of pedal.

Weight reduction is also applied to the Centerlock locks, where a complete redesign has been made compared to the standard version. Made from 7075-T6 aluminum with a stainless steel washer, they weigh 6.2 grams for the internal version and 6.8 grams for the external. The brand claims a 27 percent reduction in the internal model and a 35 percent reduction in the external, with the added benefit of not requiring specific tools beyond the usual cassette or bottom bracket tools. The development has involved collaboration with a WorldTour team, reinforcing its competitive focus.

In structural components, the integrated MKØ headset aims to minimize the height of the assembly. The upper stack is only 4 mm, and the weight is around 29 or 30 grams depending on the standard, representing nearly a 44 percent reduction compared to a conventional headset from the same brand. Enduro stainless steel bearings and an equivalent sealing system are maintained, indicating that the weight savings have not come at the expense of durability. The assembly is completed with an ultra-lightweight headset cap that uses a hollow screw made of 7075 aluminum and weighs only 4.3 grams.

The BSA bottom bracket follows a similar line, compatible with 24 mm, DUB, and 30 mm axles. They incorporate ceramic bearings and an optimized sealing system to reduce friction, with weights between 76 and 82 grams depending on the version. Here, the goal is to improve rotational efficiency in real-world conditions without compromising lifespan, something that Wolf Tooth reinforces with its repair and maintenance program.

Even in simpler parts like the seat post clamp, the same level of detail is evident. The machining removes material in non-critical areas and is combined with titanium screws, resulting in weights between 15.4 and 16.3 grams depending on diameter, available in 30, 32, and 35 mm. It is a clear example of how the MARKZERØ philosophy does not distinguish between primary and secondary components.
The entire collection is presented in the Shadow Gray finish and is marketed in limited runs, allowing the brand to experiment with processes and solutions that do not fit into its usual catalog. More than just a new range, MARKZERØ acts as a development platform where Wolf Tooth explores the limits of machining, weight reduction, and functional optimization in each piece.
