Less than 14 kg with 150 Nm: the new Megamo Upon revolutionizes the e-road segment
Megamo fully enters the high-performance electric road bike segment with the new Upon, a platform developed from scratch as an e-road and not as an adaptation of a gravel or endurance bike. The Catalan brand bets on an unusual recipe in this category with its purely road geometry, total integration of the Avinox system, and power figures that far exceed those of any current rival on the market.

Megamo Upon: this is the new e-road with Avinox motor of up to 1,500 W that wants to change the rules of electric road cycling
According to Megamo, the Upon is born with a very specific philosophy: to offer the driving sensation of a traditional road bike while incorporating electric assistance capable of extending distances, tackling longer climbs, and maintaining high rhythms without altering the sporty character of the bike.

Unlike many current e-roads, which derive from gravel or endurance platforms adapted to house a motor, the Upon has been specifically conceived to roll on asphalt. This has conditioned both the geometry and the selection of components and the calibration of the electrical system itself.

The bike is articulated around four fundamental concepts:
- Ascent
- Road
- Speed
- Performance
A approach that makes clear what its natural terrain is: long mountain days and sporty road cycling.
Carbon SL Frame and performance-oriented geometry
The new Upon uses a Carbon SL frame with front and rear triangle entirely made of carbon. The platform is available in four sizes (S, M, L, and XL) and uses 700c wheels with clearance for tires up to 42 mm.

Megamo has developed a specific geometry for this bike, moving away from the more relaxed trends often seen in many e-roads.
The keys to the design are:
- Longer reach to improve stability when the electric assistance kicks in.
- Lower bottom bracket to maintain a reduced center of gravity.
- 27.2 mm seat post to provide greater vertical flex and improve comfort.
- UDH compatibility for current and future drivetrains.

Avinox M2 and M2S: the highest power in the category
Without a doubt, the most striking aspect of the Upon is the incorporation of the Avinox electric system in its latest version presented a few weeks ago, a technology that until now had demonstrated its potential mainly in electric MTB and gravel bikes. And in this eRoad, Megamo will offer two variants:
Avinox M2
- Peak power: 1,100 W
- Continuous maximum torque: 110 Nm
- Maximum Boost torque: 125 Nm
- Motor weight: 2.65 kg

Avinox M2S
- Peak power: 1,300 W according to Megamo's commercial information
- Up to 1,500 W peak power according to technical documentation
- Continuous torque: 130 Nm
- Maximum Boost torque: 150 Nm
- Motor weight: 2.59-2.60 kg

These figures place the Upon well above the main systems currently used in electric road bikes. Megamo directly compares the Avinox with motors like the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen5 (800 W) or the Specialized 3.1 (810 W), highlighting a significant advantage in both power and torque.
But beyond raw power, Megamo has developed a specific calibration for road use of this system. And the brand has configured the assistance to offer a progressive power delivery, with a smoother response on starts, also providing a lower sensation of abrupt push and a behavior adapted to sustained efforts and constant cadences.
The goal is for the assistance to complement pedaling rather than dominate the riding experience, something especially important when riding in a group or on long climbs.
Additionally, the Avinox application allows customizing parameters such as:
- Assistance level.
- Response sensitivity.
- Maximum available torque.
- Individual configuration of assistance modes.
Integrated 600 Wh battery
In this electric system, the autonomy is provided by an Avinox FS600 battery completely integrated into the frame. Megamo has opted for a fixed solution, discarding removable batteries to preserve the aesthetics and proportions of the road frame.

This battery has an IP56 certification, its integration offers an optimized center of gravity and is compatible with Avinox fast charging of 12 A on certain models.
Autonomy depends on many factors, but can range between 70 and 120 kilometers depending on terrain, assistance level, and power provided by the cyclist.
Total system integration
One of the most carefully considered aspects of the project has been the integration of the entire electrical system and in addition to the motor completely hidden within the frame and the battery, the Upon incorporates a Avinox DPC100 display integrated into the top tube, wireless BC100 remote connected via Bluetooth, a completely internal wiring system, and the integrated Road Carbon Full Integrated handlebar with integrated cyclocomputer mount on the top mounts.

The visual result is much closer to that of a conventional road bike than that of a traditional e-bike.
42 mm tires to expand the range of use
Although it is clearly a road bike, Megamo has opted for generous clearance for tires up to 42 mm. This makes it an All Road bike.

The bike is equipped with 42 mm Vittoria Corsa Pro Control tires, which improve comfort, safety on deteriorated asphalt, performance on wet roads, and the ability to occasionally tackle compact tracks or secondary roads in worse condition.
A bike designed to keep climbing strong
Megamo identifies the main user as the experienced road cyclist who wants to maintain high rhythms, participate in cycling tours, or continue riding with demanding groups without giving up the sensations of a sporty bike.

In this sense, the Upon does not seek to be a hybrid bike between road and gravel, but rather a true assisted road bike whose main argument is to allow tackling more elevation, more kilometers, and more hours in the saddle while keeping the essence of cycling on asphalt intact.

Models and prices of the new Megamo Upon
The initial range will consist of three versions:
Megamo Upon 05
- Motor: Avinox M2S
- Transmission: Shimano Ultegra Di2
- Price: €6,499
