"It is my essential recovery product": Van Aert's favorite drink at the finish line improves its formula
In the finish area of a WorldTour race, it is common to see cyclists almost immediately seeking the same red drink after crossing the line. This is the popular cherry juice we have already discussed, and now a new version from Amacx Sports Nutrition has arrived.
The new Cherry Juice+ from Amacx improves its formula
Developed with the direct support of top-level cyclists, including those from Visma Lease a Bike. The Dutch brand Amacx presents this update as a qualitative leap in post-competition recovery, with a formula specifically adjusted for the critical phase immediately following intense effort.
The main novelty of Cherry Juice+ is the standardization of 125 mg of anthocyanins per serving, which represents a 25% increase compared to the previous version. These molecules, belonging to the polyphenol family, are the bioactive compounds responsible for the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties attributed to sour cherries.

Each 500 ml bottle also provides:
- 30 g of rapidly absorbable carbohydrates in a 2:1 ratio (glucose:fructose), aimed at accelerated glycogen replenishment.
- Natural melatonin, designed to enhance sleep quality when consumed in the afternoon or evening, a key factor in overall recovery.
According to the brand, the goal is to act after exertion, when the body is especially receptive to recovery stimuli.
The Visma Lease a Bike team emphasizes the importance of immediate recovery at the highest competitive level. For example, Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard states: "Right after the finish, hydration and recovery are crucial. Cherry Juice+ is my favorite drink after the race."

For his part, Wout van Aert adds: "Cherry Juice+ is my essential recovery product to keep performing day after day."
The brand highlights that the product development has been carried out in collaboration with its scientific team and professional cyclists, adjusting the dose of anthocyanins to what they consider an optimal range based on available evidence.
One of the most interesting points of the launch is the strategic approach proposed by Amacx. The company reminds that high doses of antioxidants can dampen the body's natural inflammatory response, a process that is also part of the physiological adaptation to training.
Therefore, they do not recommend the systematic use of Cherry Juice+ during standard training phases where the goal is long-term improvement. Instead, they position it as a specific tool for concrete scenarios, such as races or multi-day events requiring maximum performance day after day, very busy calendar periods, or in the week leading up to a major goal, prioritizing freshness over adaptation.
Cherry Juice+ is now available through the brand's official website and selected distributors.
