Important schedule change in the XCC/XCO World Cup 2024
This week kicks off the XCC/XCO World Cup with the event in Mairipora, Brazil, and it will be the first time that some races change order during the weekend. Since the Short Track has its own classification and has been included in the Sub-23 category, it has generated much more interest for fans, cyclists, and the organizer. That's why the schedule of the races has been rearranged to give them more visibility.
The Mairipora XCC World Cup will debut a new schedule that will be repeated often this season
Until this year, the Elite Short Track races, for both women and men, were held on Friday so that cyclists could recover at least 24 hours before the XCO race on Sunday. But this schedule meant that attendance at the circuit on Friday was lower since most fans arrived on Saturday to watch the Sunday race.
It seems that this has been the logic that the new organizer of the World Cup, Warner, has followed to move the Elite Short Track to Saturday. This is something we have been able to confirm with the presentation of most of the schedules for the entire 2024 season, where in almost all events, except Val di Sole and some that are still unknown, the Short Track will be competed at noon on Saturday, local time, and the XCO race 24 hours later.

As we have mentioned, this schedule change could disadvantage some riders who need more time to recover from intense efforts, but on the other hand, it will make the competition more attractive for all fans who want to watch it live from the circuit.
