"I am ready": Pogacar doesn't deceive anyone two days before the World Championships
The debacle suffered in last Sunday's time trial does not seem to have affected Tadej Pogacar, who in his latest statements before the 2025 Kigali World Championship race to be held next Sunday the 28th, showed full confidence in being able to repeat what he achieved a year ago in Zurich.
Tadej Pogacar does not shy away from his role as the top favorite for the Kigali World Championship
Lack of rhythm, that is the reason Tadej Pogacar explained his performance in the time trial at the 2025 Kigali World Championships, which even led him to miss the podium "when I arrived here, I trained for two days with the time trial bike, I competed and I didn't have rhythm. Then I switched to the road bike and this week I haven't had any problems. I think I have adapted to the environment, the altitude, the weather... now my legs are spinning well" explained the Slovenian cyclist at the press conference before the race on Sunday.
Throughout these days, Tadej Pogacar has not lost his usual smile and has been seen on social media both training with his partner Urska Zigart, by the way, taking advantage of the last days in which he could wear the rainbow jersey achieved in Zurich although he hopes to be able to do so again starting next week. He has also been seen recognizing the famous Kigali Wall, a place that is expected to be one of the decisive points of the race, as well as sharing recognition of the route with the Mexican national team and his teammate at UAE Team Emirates-XRG, Isaac del Toro.

The Israel team will have to change their name or sponsors
A recognition from which he draws the same conclusion expressed by Juan Ayuso when asked about the route: Mount Kigali, located 100 kilometers from the finish, an almost 6-kilometer climb at an average gradient of 6.8%, in other words, a real mountain, will be the place where the race breaks apart, although he also added that the Kigali Wall followed by the entrance to the circuit through the also cobbled Kimihurura hill that we have seen during these days will likely make the race explode in that central part, still with many kilometers to go until the finish line.
Obviously, after this, he was asked if he was in a position to launch an attack as far out as last year "You can't do it all the time. Besides, last year I had Jan (Tratnik) in the front group and I could shelter in the group of 20 riders. Then Pavel (Sivakov) was with me, I wasn't alone in those 100 kilometers. 100 km is not an easy task, even with help it's a bit far" he clarified.

Tadej Pogacar also spoke about who will be the men he will have to keep a closer eye on, including Tom Pidcock, Isaac del Toro, Pavel Sivakov, and of course, Remco Evenepoel, the other cyclist who, along with the Slovenian, holds the title of top favorite.
In any case, Tadej Pogacar did not hide "I feel prepared. I have had a couple of good training sessions here, I have adapted to the environment and I have enjoyed cycling a lot again. Besides, now I have an extra boost with the arrival of my teammates. A dose of energy and motivation to see friends and the atmosphere that is very good. We are all looking forward to Sunday".
