He alone surpasses teams like Movistar in points
A couple of days ago we talked about the outcome regarding promotions and relegations after the World Tour classification was defined at the end of the 2025 season last weekend. Today we are going to focus on the top where the tyranny of UAE Team Emirates-XRG is total, having achieved in this three-year period of World Tour licenses more than 35,000 points difference compared to the second classified, Visma-Lease a Bike. A difference mainly supported by the tremendous amount of points earned by Tadej Pogacar who, by himself, would be enough to keep a team in the World Tour.
UAE Team Emirates dominates the World Tour classification thanks to Tadej Pogacar's points
Tadej Pogacar has managed to accumulate 11,680 points only in this 2025 season. An incredible figure that becomes even more relevant when we put it in the context of the overall World Tour classification.
In the year 2025, the UAE Team Emirates-XRG, with their record of 95 victories, has managed to accumulate the spectacular figure of 40,624 points, that is, Tadej Pogacar has contributed no less than 28.75% of his team's points. Not bad considering that 20 cyclists from the Emirati team have raised their arms, including an Isaac del Toro who has managed to accumulate 5,514 points ranking third in the 2025 UCI ranking, only surpassed by a Jonas Vingegaard who, despite his victory in La Vuelta, has only outperformed the Mexican by just over 400 points.

But if we compare the points earned by Tadej Pogacar in 2025 with the annual team classification, the situation becomes even more impressive. If the Slovenian had been a team, he would have finished the year in 10th place in the UCI classification, just behind Alpecin-Deceuninck and surpassing teams as diverse as EF Education-EasyPost, Movistar, XDS-Astana, or Jayco-AlUla, an absolutely overwhelming figure that clearly shows who is the total and absolute dominator of world cycling.
In the top of the 2025 classification, it is necessary to highlight the 4th place occupied by XDS-Astana, which has gone from being in a relegation position at the beginning of the year to saving itself with tremendous ease. The data is eloquent, the Chinese-Kazakh team has managed in this 2025 to accumulate 10,000 more points than the previous season thanks to a peculiar selection of races, better management of its cyclists, and, of course, the extra budget injection that XDS sponsorship brought.
A very similar situation, although less spectacular, to that of Q36.5, who have managed to accumulate 4,600 more points than in their previous campaign, largely due to Tom Pidcock's podium in La Vuelta, allowing them to dream throughout this new three-year period of obtaining a full-fledged World Tour spot when it ends. For now, their situation will not be a problem as being one of the top three Pro Teams of the season automatically grants them entry to all World Tour races, as it also does with Tudor and Cofidis.
Finally, a curiosity. If UAE Team Emirates-XRG had not been able to count on Tadej Pogacar's points, the season's result would have been the same. They would have also led, with less margin, the 2025 UCI team classification as well as the three-year validity of the licenses.
