From Paris-Roubaix to your bike: this is the new OctoTouch 3D handlebar tape from Prologo
Prologo expands its catalog of components for road and gravel with the new OctoTouch 3D, a next-generation handlebar tape that features a three-dimensional surface designed to improve grip, vibration absorption, and comfort during long rides on the bike.
Prologo presents the new OctoTouch 3D handlebar tape with three-dimensional technology to enhance control and comfort
The new offering from the Italian brand represents the evolution of the concept introduced with the OneTouch 3D, the brand's first handlebar tape with three-dimensional technology. With the OctoTouch 3D, Prologo takes another step in this direction with a design aimed at maximizing control both on the road and on gravel.

The most distinctive element of this tape is its three-dimensional structure formed by micro-structured conical elastomer. Each of these small protrusions features a specific cut that helps increase grip, promote breathability, and facilitate moisture dispersion.

According to the brand, this configuration allows for maintaining a firm and secure feel of the handlebar in any weather conditions, as well as providing a softer sensation in the palm when combined with the use of gloves.

Another key function of the three-dimensional design is its ability to absorb vibrations from the terrain. The brand claims that the material and structure transform these vibrations into a small "kinetic micro-massage," which helps reduce fatigue in the hands and may contribute to improving the cyclist's endurance on long rides.
This behavior is particularly useful on uneven surfaces such as cobblestones or gravel paths, where comfort and handlebar control are determining factors.

Before its launch, the OctoTouch 3D has been tested by professional cyclists from both the gravel scene and WorldTour teams. The tests were conducted in particularly demanding scenarios, such as the cobblestones of Paris-Roubaix or the dirt roads of Strade Bianche, whose feedback helped refine the final design.
Despite its three-dimensional texture, the tape maintains a relatively contained thickness of 3.5 mm, allowing for good sensitivity on the handlebar even for cyclists with small hands.
