First impressions testing the BH Lynx SLS
This bike had been creating anticipation for months, first with the most sensitive part hidden and in the last races, the most important of the year, such as the Olympics and the World Championship, showing its complete forms. But now we have it here officially, it's called BH Lynx SLS and it is the first short-travel MTB equipped with a complete rear suspension system and conventional shock absorber.
Without a long-distance test, we have already been able to ride it for a few hundred kilometers and here are our first impressions.
The BH Lynx SLS stands out for its unique character
The first thing that comes to mind for those of us immersed in this world is that the BH Lynx SLS aesthetically resembles other bikes we already know. But that's where the similarities end. Despite its appearance, this new model uses a completely standard shock absorber to offer 80mm of rear travel. It also has the Split Pivot pivot point, concentric to the rear axle, just like its sister Lynx Race.

This bike has been designed for use with a 110mm fork, which already indicates that it does not intend to give up certain capabilities.
We have not been able to ride all the kilometers we would like with it yet, but we have covered enough different terrains to start forming a slight idea of what we have in our hands.
First of all, the BH Lynx SLS is a true full suspension bike. It does not give up any specific attribute in favor of lightness and simplicity. Its 80mm of travel feel quite active and sensitive.
The suspensions are controlled with a 2-position remote control, and we actually use it quite a bit. In any asphalt or smooth track area, we resort to locking and the Lynx SLS accelerates with great ease thanks to the lightness of the assembly.
But appearances can be deceiving with this bike, as in the descents and slightly more challenging terrains we have faced, it has defended itself with total authority. The 125mm travel seatpost makes things easier for us, the 110mm Fox 34 is a guarantee of performance, and those 80mm in the rear, although far from some suspension travels we see today, offer the necessary control to not cut when things get complicated.
The first day with the BH Lynx SLS has left us with very good feelings. We will have it with us for a while to test it thoroughly and we will soon tell you all our impressions.
