Few believed in her, but Pauline Ferrand-Prévot is wearing yellow and is ready to win the Tour
The French cyclist from Visma wins the queen stage of the Tour de France, puts on the yellow jersey, and is one step away from adding the Tour de France to a unique list of achievements. Pauline Ferrand-Prévot is now on track to achieve the goal for which she left mountain biking a year ago after winning the Olympics in Paris.
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot dominates La Madeleine and is on the verge of victory in a historic Tour
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot delivered one of the most memorable performances in recent cycling history this Saturday. In the penultimate stage of the Tour de France Femmes 2025, with the finish at the iconic Col de la Madeleine, the French rider not only won convincingly but also took the yellow jersey and practically sealed the race with just one stage remaining.
The 111.9-kilometer stage between Chambéry and Saint-François-Longchamp, with a finish at 1,986 meters of altitude, was the perfect setting for a decisive attack. Ferrand-Prévot took advantage of the last 13 kilometers of ascent to respond to an initial attack by Sarah Gigante (AG Insurance-Soudal) and Pauliena Rooijakkers (Fenix-Deceuninck), and from there, she launched a lightning-fast comeback.

With these results, Ferrand-Prévot takes the yellow jersey with a 2:37 lead over Gigante and 3:18 over Vollering in the general classification. "The last kilometer was very tough, but I knew I had to open up as big a gap as possible. I am very happy, but it's not over until we cross the finish line tomorrow," explained the rider after the stage.
The French rider, world champion in road cycling, cyclocross, MTB, and gravel, as well as Olympic champion in XCO, is on the verge of completing one of the most impressive races in cycling history if she can maintain her lead on Sunday.
The final stage of the Tour, with a finish in Châtel, will offer one last mountainous challenge, but with the lead secured and the demonstrated form, Ferrand-Prévot has everything in her favor to be crowned champion of the Tour de France Femmes 2025.
