ENVE continues to expand its catalog of components and accessories little by little. The American brand, known mainly for its wheels and for signing some of the most used handlebars in competition, has just launched its first mountain bike grips. There are two models that cover everything from competitive XC to trail and enduro: the 3DXC and the Fractal Grips. Two approaches, two constructions, and one common goal: to improve the most decisive contact point of the cockpit.

ENVE 3DXC: 3D-structured grips for XC

The 3DXC is ENVE's bet for XC. It is a pressure-molded model, without clamps, that adopts a 3D printed structure. The brand claims that this technology allows for adjustments in stiffness and material distribution to enhance grip, ventilation, and vibration absorption, as well as improve resistance to tearing, a common weak point of foam grips.

Its design is specific for each hand (L/R) and is available in two diameters, 31.5 mm and 34.5 mm, with lengths of around 132 mm. Despite the complexity of the 3D structure, the weight remains very competitive: 65 g for the small size and 71 g for the large size. They are only sold in black, and their official price for the U.S. market is $35.

ENVE Fractal Grips: lock-on for trail and enduro

The second launch is quite the opposite in concept. The Fractal Grips opt for a more traditional design, with a single-lock lock-on attachment and an A25 rubber body over a plastic core. They are designed for trail and enduro, where grip and comfort are key on long and technical routes.

Their name comes from the exterior pattern, a mix of triangles and hexagons that cover most of the grip. ENVE also adds some areas of recessed hexagons on the inner part, under the thumbs and index fingers, to achieve a softer feel in the areas with more friction.

They are also specific left/right and are offered in 31.5 mm and 34.5 mm diameters, with 135 mm in length and 95 g per pair. Here, there is indeed aesthetic variety: six colors (Black, Brown, Grey Swirl, Sage Green, Purple, and Dark Red). Their price, also for the U.S. market, is $30.

Both models are currently available only in the U.S. market, but it would not be surprising if they reached more countries in the coming days or weeks.
