Chinese electronics are gaining ground: two WorldTour teams replace Garmin with iGPSPORT and Magene
The presence of Chinese technology brands in professional cycling takes a new leap forward in 2026. The latest to announce this is Magene, which has confirmed itself as the new technology partner of the XDS Astana Team, but it is not the only one.
Magene will replace Garmin in the XDS Astana
The recently announced agreement means that the Kazakh team will abandon the Garmin cycle computers used until now, to rely on the complete ecosystem of Magene. During the 2026 season, XDS Astana will use its GPS cycle computers, smart rollers, rear radars, and heart rate monitors both in competition and training.

The alliance with Magene reinforces the strategic shift that XDS Astana began in 2025, when it became the first WorldTour team to compete with bicycles from the Chinese brand that names the team. Now, this commitment also extends to the electronic and performance monitoring sector, a field traditionally dominated by Western brands.

Founded in 2015, Magene has built a wide catalog in just a decade that includes power meters, sensors, and training platforms, with commercial presence in over a hundred countries. Its entry into the WorldTour also represents a high-level testing ground for the development of new products, including its upcoming C606 Pro cycle computer, which the team will use throughout the season.
The Groupama-FDJ will carry iGPSPORT devices
However, Magene will not be the only Chinese cycle computer brand present in the elite of cycling in 2026. Groupama-FDJ has sealed an agreement with iGPSPORT, also ending its relationship with Garmin.

The French team will use the BiNavi and BSC300T devices, as well as rear radars and heart rate bands, after several months of prior testing in races such as the Tour of Guangxi. iGPSPORT, founded in 2012 and with over two million users worldwide, thus reinforces its definitive leap into the most demanding showcase of professional cycling.
For Magene and iGPSPORT, the WorldTour is not just a global showcase, but a definitive validation. And for the peloton, a clear signal that the historical monopoly of certain brands is beginning to crack. Professional cycling, also in electronics, enters a new era.
