Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado achieves her first victory of the season in Mol

Despite being quite an iconic event on the cyclocross calendar, this year's race in Mol was framed as an independent event within the Exact Cross. This led to a starting grid with many absences, which Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado, who registered at the last minute, took advantage of to open her account of victories in a 2025/26 season where things were not going well for her at all.

Without Lucinda Brand, Puck Pieterse, or Amandine Fouquenet, the Exact Cross race in Mol was completely uncertain, at least until Manon Bakker and Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado signed up to compete at the last minute, immediately becoming the wheels to follow.

The race started with the Spanish rider Sara Cueto making her presence felt in the top positions, although she would soon fall back when Julie Brouwers, Fleur Moors, and Kristyna Zemanova accelerated the pace to try to break the race. They were joined by Bakker and Alvarado, forming a quintet that would create a gap in the first two laps.

By the third lap, Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado launched an offensive that definitively shattered the group, and only Manon Bakker managed to catch up to her, causing the pace to return to a watchful state and allowing Julie Brouwer to maintain her chances of victory by the end of the lap.

At the start of the fifth lap, on the same finishing straight, Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado launched a strong attack that surprised Bakker. The Dutch rider managed to open a gap that she would ultimately consolidate. During this lap, a heavy snowfall began, which completely changed the circuit's layout in just a few minutes, and although it affected the women little, there was uncertainty about how the course would hold up for the men's race.
