This led to a starting grid with many absences, which Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado, who registered at the last minute, took advantage of to open her account of victories in a 2025/26 season where things were not going well for her at all.

Without Lucinda Brand, Puck Pieterse, or Amandine Fouquenet, the Exact Cross race in Mol was completely uncertain, at least until Manon Bakker and Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado signed up to compete at the last minute, immediately becoming the wheels to follow.

The race started with the Spanish rider Sara Cueto making her presence felt in the top positions, although she would soon fall back when Julie Brouwers, Fleur Moors, and Kristyna Zemanova accelerated the pace to try to break the race.
