Banyoles brings together the best XCO in the world again: favorites, schedules, and how to watch
Banyoles will host this weekend, February 21 and 22, a new edition of the Shimano Super Cup Massi, a UCI Hors Categorie (HC) event, the highest level within the international calendar outside of the World Cup. This Catalan event is one of the first major competitions of the XCO 2026 calendar and will once again bring together some of the top specialists from the international scene.
The world elite of XCO meets in Banyoles with Koretzky and Terpstra at the forefront
The race is organized by Ocisport and this year is part of the commemorative events for its 25th anniversary. The organization expects the participation of more than 1,000 riders from about 35 countries, covering all categories for the weekend.
Due to its position in the calendar, Banyoles has established itself as one of the first opportunities to compete at the highest level after the preseason. Many international teams use this event to assess their form before the start of the World Cup. Sunday's events will also be available for streaming through the official channel set up by the organization.

In the men's category, the presence of the French Victor Koretzky stands out; the former world champion is the cyclist with the most victories on this circuit and has once again chosen Banyoles to start his season. Also listed are the German Luca Schwarzbauer, who won last week in Chelva, the Catalan Jofre Cullell, current number 13 in the world ranking, the French Jordan Sarrou, the British Anton Cooper, the Swiss Dario Lillo, and the Latvian Martins Blums, among other notable names.
The starting grid combines established riders in the international elite with young up-and-comers, which usually translates into fast races with marked differences from the early laps.
Anne Terpstra aims to continue her winning start
In the women's category, there will also be a notable international level. Among the confirmed participants is the Dutch Anne Terpstra, who comes from winning in Chelva, the British Isla Short, the Austrian Mona Mitterwallner, the American Kelsey Urban, the Swiss Nicole Koller, and the Danish Caroline Bohé. The Italian U23 Valentina Corvi will also participate.
The combination of established riders and young U23s makes the race an interesting reference to follow the evolution of the season from its early events.
