The 4th stage of the Absa Cape Epic 2026 left one of the most intense and complete days of the week. Constant attacks, mechanical issues, falls, and very close finishes marked a day where both the men's and women's races provided pure spectacle. In the men's category, the victory went to Schwarzbauer and Gaze after a true odyssey marked by several punctures and an epic comeback in the final stretch, while in the women's category, Courtney and Seiwald achieved their first victory after breaking the dominance of Lill and Keller in a tactical and very close finish.

The Cape Epic now reaches its queen stage, and the differences exist, but the accumulated fatigue and the toughness of the upcoming stages promise to continue shaking up the race.
