In the men's elite category, Alan Hatherly once again surprised the MTB world with a show of authority from the second lap that led him directly to retain the rainbow jersey. Behind him, the silver went to Simone Avondetto and the bronze was decided in a thrilling final descent that Victor Koretzky won in the last meter.
